ABOUT FAWAD HUSSAIN

Pakistani political leader known for his leadership in the moderate centrist Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party. He has previously held national office as Minister for Information and Broadcasting, as well as Minister for Science and Technology.  His #fawadchaudhry Twitter account has a staggering 5 million followers, and his chaudhryfawadhussain Facebook page has 470,000 followers. He publishes political essays, and photos and videos of live appearances.

He was a lawyer by education and practice before he ran for office.

He ran for his first elected post for the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in 2002. He lost in a landslide, receiving only 161 votes to his opponent's 38,626 tally. He has appeared in Pakistani media, often as a political commentator.

His uncle was Chaudhary Iftikhar Hussain, Chief Justice of Lahore High Court. He has two other uncles and a grandfather. All are devout Muslims.

He is a participant in the political party founded by Imran Khan .
