ABOUT GAVIN ESCOBAR
Tight end who was the 47th pick in the 2013 NFL draft by the Dallas Cowboys . He recorded two touchdowns and 134 receiving yards during his limited play as a rookie. He died in a rock climbing accident at the young age of 31.
He was offered a scholarship to play at San Diego State after 492 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns his senior season at Santa Margarita Catholic High School.
He was named a First-Team All-MWC selection during his junior and senior seasons at San Diego State University. In 2022, he began working as a firefighter.
He was raised by Puerto Rican parents in New York City.
He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys to help lead a two tight end passing attack with Jason Witten .
