He played barman Dave Harris, the owner of the Winchester Club, in the ITV drama, Minder. His TV credits include Man About the House, The Main Chance, and The Saint.
Born in Peninsular, Malaysia he studied at the Joan Littlewood's Theatre Workshop.
He played a role in the 1967 film, Robbery, and appeared in The Blood Beast Terror in 1968.
He was married to actress Yootha Joyce from 1958 to 1968. He'd later marry his third wife, Valerie Edwards, in the 1980s. He had one son named Tom Edwards.
He appeared in Minder, a comedy series about the London criminal underworld, with Dennis Waterman .
