ABOUT GO DOO-SHIM

Celebrated Korean actress known for playing mother figures on television and the silver screen. She starred in the 2004 drama film My Mother, the Mermaid as Yeon-soon, a role that earned her a Chunsa Film Art Award and a Korean Film Award.

She attended Jeju Girls' High School. Her first television role was in the series Chief Inspector.

She was reportedly the top-earning actor on KBS for the year 2004. In the year 2021, she appeared as a guest on an episode of the variety show Knowing Bros. She has won the prestigious Daesang award numerous times for her roles in television dramas, such as All About My Mom and Fetters of Love.

Her son Kim Jung Hwan has played roles in Dear My Friends, The One and Only, and other television dramas.

Jeon Do-yeon was her co-star in My Mother, the Mermaid.
