ABOUT GONZALO PLATA

Professional winger that was signed by the Spain-based Real Valladolid Football Club in July 2022. Prior to Real Valladolid, he played for Sporting CP and C.S.D. Independiente del Valle. In addition to his club career, he has also made appearances as a member of the Ecuadorian men's national team.

He first began playing for the Liga Deportiva Universitaria youth club in 2011. He only played there for one season.

He scored his first professional club goal on November 9, 2018, while playing against the Delfín Sporting Club. Although he is a righty, he scored his first career goal using his left foot. His soccer fame has resulted in amassing over 900,000 followers on his gonzaloplata Instagram account.

Growing up, he lived with his family in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

He played alongside Jordi Masip López as a member of Real Valladolid during the 2022 club season.
