ABOUT GRIFFIN O'NEAL
Notable for his major roles in the 1980s movies April Fool's Day and The Escape Artist, O'Neal also appeared in a 1991 video production titled Ghoulies Go to College.
He made his big screen debut in the 1976 comedy movie Nickelodeon.
New York Times arts critic Vincent Canby wrote a glowing 1982 review of O'Neal's acting work.
He grew up in Los Angeles in a family of entertainers; his parents, Ryan O'Neal and Joanna Moore , were both actors, and his sister, Tatum O'Neal , won an Academy Award at the age of ten for her role in Paper Moon.
O'Neal was convicted of negligent boat operation after a boat he was piloting was involved in an accident that resulted in the death of director Francis Ford Coppola 's son Gian-Carlo Coppola.
