ABOUT HAFIZ MAMMADOV

Known for founding a prominent Azerbaijani construction, gasoline, and transportation company called The Baghlan Group, this wealthy entrepreneur also owned football (soccer) clubs in France, England, and his native Azerbaijan.

He founded The Baghlan Group in the late 1990s and purchased the F.C. Baku in 2004.

He reportedly purchased the English football club Sheffield Wednesday for close to fifty million Euros.

He was born and raised in Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

He and Mimi Ikonn both became famous Azerbaijani entrepreneurs.
