ABOUT HAMKA HAMZAH

Versatile defender who has risen to fame for his prolific club career in Indonesia's Liga 1, including for Persija Jakarta between 2005-2008. He later won the Liga 1 title in 2011 with Persipura Jayapura.

He played in PSM Makassar's youth academy between 2000-2001.

He helped lead Indonesia's U-21 squad to the Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy title in 2002. He signed with Liga 1 squad Arema FC in 2018.

He was born and raised in Makassar, Indonesia.

He and Dendi Santoso have played as teammates for Arema FC.
