His first major role was that of Will Scarlett on the British TV program Robin Hood. He appeared in the video game adaptation television series, Halo.
He was born to Marion Dickens and Jonathan Lloyd. He is a descendant of novelist Charles Dickens . He dated Gugu Mbatha-Raw but the couple split in 2012.
He starred alongside Peter Dinklage on the popular drama Game of Thrones.
