ABOUT HELEN GALLAGHER
Stage and television actress who starred in Broadway productions of Sweet Charity, Pal Joey, and No, No, Nanette. Her performances in the latter two shows earned her Tony Awards. Later in her career, she worked at Herbert Berghof Studio as an acting teacher.
She made her Broadway debut in 1953 in the musical Hazel Flagg.
From 1975 to 1989, she played the character of Maeve Ryan on the soap opera Ryan's Hope. Her performance earned her three Daytime Emmy Awards.
She married Frank Wise; the couple divorced in 1958.
She appeared with Christopher Walken in the 1977 film Roseland.
