ABOUT IMELDA PAPIN

Famous for her sentimental hit songs "Isang Linggong Pag-ibig" and "Bakit (Kung liligaya ka sa piling ng iba)," this Filipina singer is also notable for her political career. From 1998 until 2004, she served as Vice Governor of the Philippine province of Camarines Sur.

After briefly attending the University of the East (in Manila, Philippines), she graduated from the University of Hawaii with a bachelor's degree in business.

She hosted a Los Angeles television show called "Imelda Papin in America" and a Las Vegas program titled "Imelda Papin Voice of the Heart Radio Show."

She spent her early years in Presentacion, Camarines Sur, Philippines, and later relocated to Manila.

She and her Filipino contemporary and fellow singer, Rico J. Puno , both had second careers as politicians.
