History buff who has risen to fame for his eponymous YouTube channel. He has earned massive popularity for his video essays documenting the history of Norse mythology and language, including while as a professor at the University of Colorado -Boulder.

He received his BA in classical languages from Texas Tech University. He would later earn his MA in linguistics from the University of Georgia.

He has amassed more than 300,000 YouTube subscribers. He worked as a language consultant on the 2013 Disney hit film Frozen .

He has one brother named Travis.
