TV actress who married director Rolan Joffe and appeared in Surviving Picasso in 1996.
She gained prominence for playing the title character in the 1977 film Marie Curie.
She has written several memoirs about her childhood and time growing up in Ipswich.
Her son is the BAFTA-nominated screenwriter Rowan Joffe.
She was in the 1983 TV film Macbeth, based on the famous play by William Shakespeare .
