Jay du Plessis
ABOUT JAY DU PLESSIS
Pop singer who became known as the frontman of the South African group Eden. He has also enjoyed a successful solo career, and performed on stage with well-known acts such as The Corrs, Ronan Keating and Westlife. He won a local GMT Award for Best Pop Album.
He got his start doing musical theatre in 1996. His debut was as the lead singer in the musical Let's Rock in 1999.
He and his band won two Tempo Awards by Huisgenoot magazine for Favorite Pop Group and Favorite Pop Album, as well as Best Pop Album at the South African Music Awards (SAMA) for their album Eden.
He was born Jaco du Plessis but is known by his stage name Jay. He is originally from South Africa. He and his wife Mia have four sons.
He has performed on stage with music legend Bono .
