ABOUT JELANI REMY

Musical theatre star who rocketed to fame earning the role of Simba in the Broadway production of Disney's The Lion King .

Leading up to his Broadway debut, he spent five years touring across the country performing in High School Musical and High School Musical 2. He also portrayed Simba in the Las Vegas and touring productions of The Lion King.

Growing up in a Caribbean family, he loved reggae and Soca music. With this history, he dabbled in piano playing and the drums and had initially thought he would become a music teacher.

His mother is from Trinidad and his father is from Barbados. They met in New York City. He has three brothers, Kosi, Gerald and Shawn.

Both he and Chantel Riley have appeared in Broadway productions of the stage musical The Lion King.
