She is a K-12 school teacher in the California school system. While her daughter was growing up, she and her husband pushed her to take piano lessons and introduced her to their favorite musical artists. She began enrolling her daughter in local singing competitions, piano classes, and acting lessons at the age of six.

She is American, with Irish and German ancestry. Her favorite musical genres are punk and metal according to her daughter.

She is married to her husband Chris Rodrigo, and together they have one child, Olivia. They live in California.
