She started the company Naptime Diaries in 2011 where she sold scripture prints out of her home. She then co-founded SheReadsTruth in 2012, a blog focused on scripture and its relation to daily life. Shortly thereafter, she began her own personal blog.

She is known for starting her own church in downtown Charleston, South Carolina called Bright City and has helped write several books on faith including Wild and Free and Always Enough, Never Too Much.
