ABOUT JIM BURT
Former NFL defensive tackle who won Super Bowls as a member of the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers. He is a member of the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame.
He went undrafted out of the University of Miami and signed with the New York Giants as a free agent in 1981.
His dousing of Giants head coach Bill Parcells with Gatorade after a 1984 win against the Washington Redsksins became one of the first known instances of the traditional 'Gatorade bath' in the NFL.
His son, Jim Burt Jr., played baseball at the University of Miami.
He knocked out 49ers quarterback Joe Montana in the 1986 NFC Divisional Playoff game as a member of the Giants but later went on to win a Super Bowl with the quarterback after singing with the 49ers in 1989.
