ABOUT JOANNA COLE
Famous for her The Magic School Bus series of children's books, she penned more than two hundred other titles, including Bug in a Rug, Bully Trouble, Dinosaur Story, and the Ready, Set, Dogs! series.
After earning her bachelor's degree in psychology from the City College of New York, she worked as a New York City school librarian and subsequently worked for Newsweek, Scholastic, and Doubleday Books.
As a schoolgirl, she was fascinated by science, an interest that inspired her popular Magic School Bus books.
Raised in East Orange, New Jersey, she later settled in Norfolk, Connecticut, with her husband Philip.
Actor Danny Tamberelli voiced one of the characters in PBS's animated adaptation of The Magic School Bus.
