American actress and writer who appeared in plan 9 From Outer Space and wrote for Gilligan's Island and The Flintstones.
She acted in a series of small roles between 1956 and 1961, including the Frank Sinatra film The Joker is Wild.
She won the Humanitas Prize for her screenplay The Kid Who Wouldn't Quit: The Brad Silverman Story.
Her son, Craig Lee, was the editor of L.A. Weekly. Her other son, Christopher Ciampa, appeared in some of her films.
She wrote a Golden Globe Award winning film about the career of Babe Zaharias .
