ABOUT JOANNE GREENBERG
American author best known for the semi-autobiographical novel I Never Promised You a Rose Garden, which she wrote under the pen name Hannah Green.
She was diagnosed with schizophrenia when she was an adolescent, and her experiences inspired much of her writing.
She won the 1963 Jewish Book Council of America award for her novel The King's Persons.
She was born in Brooklyn, New York.
Kathleen Quinlan starred in the film adaptation of I Never Promised You a Rose Garden.
