ABOUT JOAQUíN SABINA

Spanish singer and poet with more than four decades of professional experience and over a dozen successful albums. The award-winning artist has also released several poetry books since his debut in the 1970s.

He was fourteen when he began writing poems and composing music. He was also a member of the band Merry Youngs which emulated stars like Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry .

During the 1970s, he was an anti-fascist activist and was forced to flee Spain at risk of arrest, possibly by his own father, and persecution for his anti- Francisco Franco ideals.

He is the second son of Adela Sabina del Campo and Jerónimo Martínez Gallego, a policeman. He began a relationship with Jimena Coronado in 1999.

In 1998, he released the album Enemigos íntimos in collaboration with Fito Paez .
