ABOUT JOE CALDWELL
Retired professional basketball player nicknamed "Pogo Joe" who is best remembered for his days in the NBA and the now-defunct ABA. He was a member of the United States team which took home gold at the 1964 Olympic Games.
He was born in Texas City, Texas and was originally drafted by the Detroit Pistons in 1964.
He is one of the few players in basketball history to have been an All-Star in both the NBA and ABA. He was a two-time All-Star in both leagues.
He was married but got divorced in the mid-70's.
He won a gold medal at the 1964 Olympics alongside teammate Bill Bradley , who would later become a U.S. Senator.
