Joe Marston
ABOUT JOE MARSTON
Former soccer player who played professionally from 1943 to 1964 before becoming the manager of clubs like Sydney Olympic. He is the recipient of such prestigious honors as the Australian Sports Medal and is a member of the Sport Australia Hall of Fame.
He was born in Leichhardt, New South Wales and began his professional career with Leichhardt-Annandale.
While playing for Preston North End, he became the first Australian ever to play in an FA Cup Final.
He was married to Edith Marston.
He and Paralympian Ashley Adams were both recipients of the Australian Sports Medal.
