ABOUT JOEY QUIñONES
R&B and soul singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist known for being the frontman of Thee Sinseers and for his involvement in the Chicano soul genre by blending classic 1960s and 1970s R&B with contemporary influences. He is also known for the songs "Seems Like," "It Was Only a Dream," "For You," and "I Don't Mind."
He grew up with a love for music. He attended Garfield High School and participated in the school's marching band. His transition to soul music happened after performing Otis Redding 's "These Arms of Mine" at a friend's comedy show. He received a very positive reception, which inspired him to pursue singing more seriously. He was a member of The Steady 45s before he joined with Thee Sinseers. He and the Thee Sinseers released the song "Seems Like" in 2019, which went viral and helped boost their career. He and the Thee Sinseers released their debut full-length album Sinseerly Yours in March 2024.
He can play over a dozen instruments, including the vibraphone and congas. The Thee Sinseers' song "It Was Only a Dream" was featured in the film Self Reliance and the TV show Riverdale.
He was born and raised in East Los Angeles, California.
He considers Ray Charles , Little Richard , and Ritchie Valens as musical inspirations.
