ABOUT JOEY SCARBURY

Most famous for his 1981 hit single "Believe It or Not" (the theme song of the ABC series The Greatest American Hero), this California-born vocalist and songwriter also released a moderately successful 1971 track titled "Mixed Up Guy."

When he was just fourteen years old, he was signed by Dunhill Records. However, because his first single, "She Never Smiles Anymore," was unsuccessful, he was dropped from the label.

In the early 1990s, he co-wrote "No Matter How High," which became a chart-topping country single for The Oak Ridge Boys.

He was raised in Thousand Oaks and Ontario, California.

During the 1970s, he sang backup vocals for country singer Loretta Lynn and other popular musicians.
