ABOUT JOHN CALIPARI

NCAA head coach who led the University of Kentucky to an NCAA Championship in 2012. Before joining Kentucky, he helped establish an elite basketball program at the University of Memphis, coaching the Tigers to the NCAA Championship game in 2008.

He played point guard for UNC- Wilmington and Clarion University of Pennsylvania.

He received the Naismith College Coach of the Year Award in 1996, 2008 and 2015 and the Sports Illustrated Coach of the Year Award in 2009.  In 2024, he announced he was becoming the head coach of the University of Arkansas .

He married Ellen Calipari and they have three kids together: Megan, Erin, and Bradley .

He coached Anthony Davis during Kentucky's 2012 championship run.
