ABOUT JOHN OSBORNE
British playwright who wrote Look Back in Anger which initially was bombarded by negativity until one of the most influential critics of the time praised it.
He attempted trade journalism for a time and soon after became a stage manager and actor while attempting to write plays.
He did appear on screen, mostly later in his life, in TV series such as The Parachute and Very Like a Whale. He also acted in a select number of films, including a well remembered performance in Get Carter in 1971.
He married five times in mostly unhappy unions and had multiple affairs.
He and Raymond Burr both had a role in Tomorrow Never Comes.
