ABOUT JOHN POWER
Bassist and backing vocalist for the rock band The La's who helped start the Britpop movement of the mid-1990s.
He joined the La's as their bassist in the summer of 1986.
In addition to his work with The La's, he fronted another Liverpool rock group, Cast, and released solo albums.
He grew up in the Allerton neighborhood of Liverpool, England.
His hometown of Allerton was referenced by Paul McCartney and The Beatles in their song "Penny Lane."
