ABOUT JOHNNY TOWNSEND

Punter who was selected in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL draft by the Oakland Raiders . After bouncing around the NFL for several years, he went on to join the Orlando Guardians of the XFL in 2023. His football fame has helped him gain more than 50,000 followers on Instagram.

His football journey began at William R. Boone High School in Orlando, where he showcased his skills on the field. His was noticed by Ohio State, leading to his initial recruitment by the college football program.

In 2016 he achieved the highest punting average in the entire country for NCAA Division I FBS football. He maintained an average of 47.9 yards per punt during that season.

He's from Leoti, Kansas. His older brother, Tommy Townsend , is also an NFL punter.
