ABOUT JON CHAMPION

Commentator specializing in soccer who is famous for his calls of League Cup and Premiere League matches. He was the commentator for the United States' coverage of the 2014 FIFA World Cup on ESPN.

He was born in Harrogate and began his announcing career with BBC Sport in the 80's.

He is also known as the voice of Konami's "Pro Evolution Soccer" series of video games, which he began voicing in 2008.

His father, David, was the headmaster of Bootham School.

He and Chris Waddle announced the FA Cup Final in May 2011.
