ABOUT JON ELIA
Pakistani poet and scholar who released various poetry collections including his first collection, Shayad, in 1991.
He wrote his first Urdu couplet when he was eight years old and also studied Islamic history.
He was fluent in many languages including Arabic, English, Persian, and Hebrew.
He married writer Zahida Hina, and they had two daughters and a son before divorcing in the mid 1980s.
Like him, Ehsan Sehgal has worked as a Pakistani poet.
