Jon Stallworthy
ABOUT JON STALLWORTHY
A British poet, literary critic, and academic, he published seven volumes of poetry, including A Familiar Tree, The Astronomy of Love, and Hand in Hand. He also edited Volume 2C of the Norton Anthology of English Literature, as well as a collection of World War I-era poems.
He started writing poetry at age seven and went on to receive the Newdigate Prize while a student at Magdalen College, Oxford.
His 1998 memoir, Singing School, details his poetic development.
His parents, Margaret and John Arthur Stallworthy, were both born in New Zealand.
He published a 1963 scholarly work entitled Between the Lines: W. B. Yeats ' Poetry in the Making.
