Jonathan Stroud

ABOUT JONATHAN STROUD

Most famous for his bestselling Bartimaeus Sequence of fantasy novels, he also penned the Lockwood & Co. books and such individual fantasy titles as Buried Fire and The Leap.

He was a sickly child; as a result, he spent a large portion of his younger years reading and writing. He went on to study literature at the University of York.

In his early adulthood, he worked in London as a member of the Walker Books editing staff.

His marriage to children's book illustrator Gina Stroud resulted in a son (Arthur) and a daughter (Isabelle).

He and Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling both wrote works of young adult fantasy fiction.
