Best known for his role as Randolph in Darkest Hour and for playing Lord Alfred Paget in the TV series Victoria. He is also a writer.

He studied French at Oxford University and was a member of the drama team.

He has a cat named Sir Terence Higgins. As a writer, he wrote and starred in the horror project called Two Heads Creek that was released in 2019.

He was raised by lesbian parents in Bristol.

Lily James also starred in Darkest Hour.
