ABOUT JULIAN WEST

After serving as the Chair of the Canadian Green Party's federal committee, this English-born politician transferred his political allegiance to the New Democratic Party. Also a mathematician, he lectured at universities in France, the United States, Canada, and England.

After earning a bachelor's degree from the California Institute of Technology, he received a doctorate in mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

He joined the board of Fair Vote Canada in 2000.

When he was four years old, he moved from England to British Columbia, Canada. Later in his life, he settled in Bristol, England.

He and Elizabeth May were both foreign-born Canadian Green Party politicians.
