Paraguayan midfielder who is widely considered one of the best from his country to ever play the game. He starred for the Paraguayan national team from 1979 to 1990.

He began his career with his hometown club, the Sportivo Luqueno, in 1977.

He played for the New York Cosmos in the early 1980s.

He grew up in Luque, Paraguay.

He was the only Paraguayan listed by Pele among the top 125 greatest living soccer players in 2004.
