ABOUT KAREN TEI YAMASHITA
A Japanese-American author and professor, she is known for such novels as I Hotel and Circle K Cycles. She also published several works of dramatic literature.
She worked as an Associate Professor of Literature at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
She was a finalist for the 2010 National Book Award.
She and her husband Ronaldo became parents to two children.
She was a finalist for the National Book Award, an honor that Lloyd Alexander won.
