Center back who began his professional career with Manchester City in 2011 and debuted with the Dutch national team in 2014.
He began his youth career with Scheveningen in 1999.
He was sent on loan to the Blackburn Rovers in 2013.
He was born in The Hague, Netherlands. His brother Omar Rekik is also a soccer player.
He and Robin van Persie became teammates on the Dutch national team.
