ABOUT KATE DAVIES
Knitter who's risen to fame creating digital patterns for hand knitters. She's created Kate Davies Designs and as it grew, she turned it into a publishing house and started releasing her own books.
She suffered a stroke at the age of 36 that ended her academic career.
She's also released her own line of knitwear under the name KDD Originals.
She's been married to photographer Tom Barr.
She's appeared on BBC Radio 2's Simon Mayo Show.
