ABOUT KATE KENNEDY

Author, podcast host, and entrepreneur known for her New York Times bestseller One in a Millennial. She is also recognized for her Be There in Five Etsy shop. She has hosted a podcast called Be There in Five where she talks about pop culture.

She earned her marketing degree from Virginia Tech University . She was working in marketing when she had the idea to create a doormat that said "turn your curling iron off" to serve as a reminder for her when leaving her apartment. She then went on to sell the doormats on her own Etsy shop. Because of her success as an Etsy seller, she was able to quit her job in marketing and become a full-time entrepreneur.

She published her first book, Twinkle, Twinkle, Social Media Star, in 2018.

Her mom helped her hand-paint the doormats for her business.

Her business has been featured in the Martha Stewart magazine.
