ABOUT KELLY MARCEL
British screenwriter whose screenplay for the 2013 biographical drama film Saving Mr. Banks launched her to fame. She would go on to write the screenplays for 2018's Venom , 2021's Venom: Let There Be Carnage , and 2024's Venom: The Last Dance, the last of which she directed.
She worked part-time at a video rental shop in London while trying to launch her career in screenwriting.
In 2015, she was a guest on an episode of Bret Easton Ellis ' podcast. She wrote the screenplay for Fifty Shades of Grey but was unhappy with how the film turned out.
Her younger sister Rosie Marcel portrayed Jac Naylor in Holby City and Casualty .
She and director John Lee Hancock both contributed to the making of Saving Mr. Banks.
