In 2018 she was included in Women's Running '20 Women Who Are Changing The Sport Of Running (And The World)' list.

Her younger brother Scott died in 2009 in a car accident. Getting into running helped her deal with her grief. She has a sister, Samantha.

In October 2018 she had Mirna Valerio on her podcast.
