Ken Tamplin
ABOUT KEN TAMPLIN
Singer and songwriter in the Christian Rock genre. In 1987, he founded a glam metal Christian band called Shout.
He spent his early teen years selling and using cocaine and other drugs. At age fourteen, he ended his drug use and became a born-again Christian.
For his 1993 album Tamplin, he received one of several Gospel Music Association (GMA) Dove Awards.
He grew up in Marietta, Georgia. His cousin, Sammy Hagar , was lead vocalist of the rock band Van Halen.
He produced a 2001 charity album that featured gospel vocals by singer Andrae Crouch .
