Japanese soccer player best known as a midfielder for Kawasaki Frontale, where he began playing in 2003. He has also represented Japan at tournaments like AFC Asian Cup and FIFA World Cup.
He was born in Kodaira, Tokyo and earned a Bachelor's degree from Chuo University.
He was named to the J-League Team of the Year each year from 2006 to 2010.
He married a woman named Kazuo.
