Perhaps best known for his role of Waingro in the Michael Mann crime thriller Heat, he has appeared in several big name films and television shows including Con Air, G.I. Jane, L.A. Law, and Smallville.
Starting in 1984 with an appearance in Billy Crystal : A Comic's Line, he would continue to land roles regularly with other early appearances coming in Highway to Heaven and SpaceCamp.
He was arrested for cultivating marijuana and served time for 26 months.
He was married to Kelly Preston from 1985 to 1987 and later married Shannon Perris-Knight in 2006.
He played Leon Minghella in the 2001 film Blow , which starred Johnny Depp .
