TV actress and comedian famous for her roles in GLOW , The Baby-Sitters Club , Atypical , and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend . She is part of the 1940s-themed comedy group The Apple Sisters, along with Rebekka Johnson and Sarah Lowe. Besides creating sketch videos and performing live, The Apple Sisters host a self-titled podcast. She works as a writer and director as well as an actress.

She began her comedy career in 2002. While based out of New York originally, she moved to Los Angeles in 2008 after receiving critical acclaim for her performances with The Apple Sisters at the Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival.

She has won a Daytime Emmy Award, a Micheaux Film Festival award, and a Walla Walla Movie Crush award. She promotes her career on her kimmygatewood Instagram page, which has gained 20,000 followers. She made several appearances acting in sketches on Conan O'Brien 's show, which she discussed on his Inside Conan podcast in May of 2022.

She married Matthew C. Johnson, who is also a director.

She and Alison Brie starred in GLOW.
