ABOUT LASALLE THOMPSON
Four-time NBA All-Star and the first overall pick in the 1983 NBA draft who was a power forward for the Kansas Jayhawks, the Indiana Pacers and the San Antonio Spurs . He was awarded the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year in 1983 and was also a two-time Pac-10 Player of the Year.
He was a standout player at Washington High School in Kansas City. He was also a starter for four seasons at the University of Kansas , where he averaged 20.6 points and 12.6 rebounds per game, and was named an All-American in 1983.
His was selected to the All-NBA Third Team in 1992 and being part of the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 1984. He was also an important part of the Pacers' playoff runs in the 1990s, and was traded to the Spurs in 2000. He was part of the 1995 Pacers team that made it to the Eastern Conference Finals.
He grew up in a large family. He is the eldest of eight children and his parents are Robert and Wilma Thompson. He married his high school sweetheart, and they had two sons. They also had two cats named Mittens and Tiger.
He played with NBA legend Reggie Miller in Indiana during the 1990s.
