ABOUT LAURELL K. HAMILTON

An American fantasy and romance writer, she is particularly known for her Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter and Merry Gentry series. Her stand-alone works include Strange Candy and Nightseer.

She studied English and biology at Marion University. She published her first Anita Blake novel, Guilty Pleasures, in 1993.

A dog lover, she worked with several animal rescue organizations.

She married Gary Hamilton; together they had one daughter.

She and Anne Rice both wrote stories about vampires.
