Former child star who rose to fame for playing Kathy on the long-running series Father Knows Best.
She had her first acting role on a 1952 episode of Lux Video Theatre in 1952 when she was seven.
She wrote the book Father Does Know Best-The Lauren Chapin Story in 1988.
She has an older brother, Billy, who also became an actor.
She acted alongside Robert Young on Father Knows Best from 1954 to 1960.
